Spanning five generations, the Molloy family have been in the textile trade since James Molloy began weaving in the 19th century.

Based in Ardara, County Donegal; this father and son team continue to produce small batch, high quality 100% wool tweeds. Their wealth of knowledge, skill and expertise comes through from their ancestors and continues to live on in the modern techniques that they have embraced. Their small workshop is nestled in the dramatic landscape of rolling hills, expansive sky, rugged coastline and vast views of the Atlantic that define this region famed for its woolen cloth.

Molloy & Sons are one of the few companies left who can proudly claim to create authentic Irish Donegal Tweed. Yarns are spun and dyed locally while color matching; designing, warping and weaving are all done in-house. These images documenting the Molloy weaving studio and surrounding areas in County Donegal are pulled from a newsprint made to accompany the Big Shirt, Zip Jacket, Bellow Pocket Jacket & Three Button Jacket - all cut from Molloy cloth.
